Praiano
Certainly one of the lesser known but most interesting destinations of the Amalfi Coast, Praiano is famous for its extraordinary panoramic views, for the numerous votive shrines and for the colorful streets that, turning into steps, reach the sea. But it is above all its incomparable sunsets that make Praiano magical, the only town on the entire coast where the sun plunges into the sea.
Among the main attractions that you can visit in Praiano is the Church of San Gennaro, dating back to 1589, decorated with Baroque stuccoes and a colorful majolica terracotta floor. The dome of the church in white and blue majolica, now a symbol of the Coast, is very famous.
Not to be missed is a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Gavitella, a small natural cove eternally kissed by the sun, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset against the backdrop of the panorama of Positano and Capri. Among the numerous views overlooking the sea that can be discovered climbing up and down the narrow streets of the town, you cannot miss a walk in the village of Marina di Praia, a lively beach crowned by an imposing Saracen tower.
But Praiano is not just the sea. From the town center, in fact, you can easily reach the convent of Santa Maria a Castro, where, immersed in the green of the mountains, you can connect to the Path of the Gods, one of the most beautiful nature trails in the world.
In short, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, halfway between sky and sea, Praiano is a real corner of paradise not to be missed.
