Hotel Tramonto D´Oro --- truely a jewel in the quiet village of Praiano close to Amalfi. Nothing for disco fans. The hotel is located in a particular scenic part of the Amalfi coast. Friendly staff topped by owner´s personal care. Great restaurant overlooking the sea and the coatline.Quiet sea side rooms. Free parking in front of the hotel. Recommendation: Don´t miss it !

Our experience, overall, was excellent. From the landscape, to the food, to the cooking classes, to the tours…everything was absolutely amazing! To put things in perspective, if we had a chance to move to Amalfi, we’d do so in a heartbeat! ...The hotel staff was very cordial overall and quite accommodating. The hotel itself was terrific- clean, quiet, perfect location, ample-size rooms, simple yet elegant, breath-taking views…The cooking classes were amazing and so much fun! The chefs were very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, courteous, and seemed to genuinely enjoy working with us. It was a true pleasure. Everything was prepared prior to us arriving for the class and there were no language barriers. Having the chef and our interpreter sit down with us to enjoy the food we made together was a very, very nice touch. This was most likely our favorite part of the trip (although it’s so hard to choose a favorite).

The views and the sunset every night from the balcony of the room- stunning. The staff & family who owned the hotel were always warm, friendly and so helpful- the rooms tastefully modern. A wonderful relaxing peaceful hotel with excellent breakfasts in addition. Located in a perfect spot in town- easy walking distance to explore the local shops, restaurants, and beach cove. Buses outside the hotel doorstep to all the local areas if needed. Priano is a perfectly positioned town on the amalfi coast to be able to explore towards amalfi & ravello one way & positano , sorrento & pompei the other. It is a quieter gentler town than the other bustling tourist filled towns , but has a lot of charm also.

This is a great way to see the world. I was travelling on my own and friends encouraged me to get my feet on the ground and get moving. What better way and better place than Hotel Tramonto D'oro and the cooking class. I met new friends, felt safe and sound and best of all had lots of fun.
I just arrived home to Sydney last night. I had lunch with friends today, they asked me what was the highlight of my month long trip and I had to say the Cooking Class at Hotel Tramonto D'Oro. I had a lovely time in Florence and Venice and later London, but my "highlight" I had to admit was Hotel Tramonto D'Oro. Accommodation was very good, side trips were wonderful and the Chefs went the extra mile in explaining. Chefs Ciro, Carmine and Salvatore were wonderfully patient and forthcoming with extra tips on how to achieve results with ease. Salvatore, who was translating (although we often got the idea from the chefs who were very passionate about their craft/art even though we only understood a little Italian) was extremely helpful and caring.
Carmela took great care of us to make sure everything was in order and to make sure we were happy. Mamma Teresa always called in on us to see how the cooking was coming along.... Always fine! Lots of tips in the class, so much sure you take pen along with the recipe book to take notes
The hotel was really wonderful, great view, nice comfy rooms, everything you want on a wonderful holiday.
Special thanks to Salvatore who is definitely worth his weight in gold in organising, translating and public relations, Salvatore, Carmine and Ciro for the very patient teaching, Giovanni and the guys in the restaurant/dining room made us feel like we were family.
It was a well rounded trip with visits to local artists,l
Limoncello factory, Emerald Grotto, Ravello, Amalfi, Prositano, Isle of Capri and guess what a free morning to lay by the pool and relax.
Well recommended, I would do it again in a heart beat!

We loved everything – from start to finish! The location is perfect and set in the middle of a dream! From the very beginning, upon greeting us, the staff was so accommodating, gracious, warm and helpful. Mamma Teresa and Carmela were so friendly and warm and treated us like family; coming over and talking to us throughout the week, visiting us during cooking classes and giving us many hugs on our last day and when we were leaving. Each staff member (Anita, Agnes, Salvatore, Pepe, Pasquale, Pepino) made us feel so comfortable and went above and beyond to take care of our touring arrangements and to make sure that we had everything we needed. They were very professional and couldn’t have been nicer – and they couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful.
The entire hotel was spotless and our rooms were very lovely (loved the bathroom!); the view was breathtaking and more than we could ask for. We were amazed that this lovely hotel began as a coffee bar and through the dreams and determination of one man, grew into this beautiful hotel. This would make a wonderful venue for a destination wedding!
How do you describe an experience that will be unforgettable! We had an unbelievable week and these memories will remain with us forever. We loved the cooking classes. They were so much fun and the 3 chefs, Carmine, Ciro and Salvatore and our translator, Salvatore, were adorable and friendly, very good natured and pleasant. Instructions on the food preparation were easy to follow, the end result simple and delicious and we picked up many good tips. I will not be buying pizza dough any more!
All aspects of the vacation were wonderful but the cooking classes were the most fun. This is what we came for and we were not disappointed. Not only did we learn a few things but we had so much fun at the same time. The classes were a fun, easy and pleasurable experience to learn from seasoned chefs that happened to be very patient. They love their work and it was obvious from the way they handled themselves.
Lelo, the tour guide we had in Amalfi and Ravello was quite knowledgeable and did a great job in going through the history of each town. He was quite pleasant.

vi scriviamo per ringraziarvi ancora per il meraviglioso aiuto che ci avete dato per il nostro matrimonio. La vostra ospitalita e il vostro posto sono diventati leggendari per tutti gli stranieri e italiani che sono stati ospiti al nostro matrimonio italo-norvegese questa estate il 25 luglio. Non abbiamo parole per descrivere quanto felici e soddisfatti siamo.
Abbiamo finalmente ricevuto le foto del matrimonio dai nostri amici fotografi e ve ne mandiamo qualche copia, dove si vedono il buffet, i tavoli, etc cosi potete metterli sul vostro sito web.Purtroppo possiamo solo mandare 2 fotoxvolta quindi vi mandiamo varie emails con foto.
Noi speriamo di venirvi a trovare al piu presto, perche la unica cosa che ci e dispiaciuta e che siamo riusciti a mangiare pochissimo e solo ad assaggiare la torta e poiche' era tutto ottimo, vogliamo venire a goderci una cena intera li. Fateci sapere se ricevete le foto.

What a wonderful week's stay we had in Praiano and at your hotel! Everyone in the staff is so friendly and personal, which really makes you feel welcome. We also enjoyed the delicious food (including a perfect birthday dinner - thanks again for the lovely surprise birthday cake!). And, of course: the spectacular view!!
Our favourite spot in the sun was the cool and fun One Fire Beach, 400 steps down the stone stairs from the hotel, and then to return to the hotel in the late afternoon to watch the sun go down from the poolside on the roof, or from our hotel room terrace while enjoying a drink. What a sensational view!
Again, many thanks for a wonderful week! We will definitely visit again.

Ci lamentiamo di quanto segue:
1)i luoghi sono decisamente troppo belli
2)i padroni di casa di quest’hotel sono eccessivamente ospitali
3)lo staff è visibilmente troppo cortese e disponibile ( N.B. : per i punti 2) e 3) non abbiamo mai visto della gente simile ! )
4)purtroppo noi siamo stati troppo bene e con grande rammarico annunciamo che dovremo ritornare………….
Concludiamo quindi che:
a)la nostra vacanza è stata troppo meravigliosa !
b)questo hotel rappresenta un serio pericolo per ogni ripresa di vita normale !!!
